It Pays to Organise Your Debts

Obviously your goal is to get out of debt, but what can do you in the meantime to help yourself?
My husband came out of hospital two days ago. We’re still in shock that he went in for terrible stomach pains, and we thought they would just keep him in overnight. 9 days later he finally came out after having a serious bowel infection. There were some very tense moments when the doctors were chasing the infection around. Trying to work out what it was, and how to treat it, meanwhile, my husband’s temperature and heart rate were going off the scale and didn’t look like they were ever going to come back down.
Why am I telling you this?
One minute we were fine, and the next minute I was seriously wondering if he’s ever come back home. Things can, and do happen that quickly. can you be confident that you could be away from home for a few days, weeks or even months and your debts and financial obligations would look after themselves? The last thing you need in a crisis is to ahve your creditors chasing you for money.
If you're serious about getting out of debt and not getting further into it it then GO NOW and check that you have direct debits set up to at least pay the minimum on your credit cards and other debts each month. Another thing you can do is to arrange a Debt Management Plan (DMP) where you pay a set amount each month to all your creditors – leaving you only one payment to worry about.
I’m not being morbid or over-dramatic, just practical. Do this today as a step towards getting yourself out of debt.
